The Margaret River Region Open Studios is a 16-day event offering a trail of discovery for all art lovers. With over 130+ artists, this is the largest event of it’s kind.
Artists and artisans are expected to open the doors to their art studios and workshops, delivering a unique experience for art lovers to meet the creator of the artwork, peruse original artworks and of course purchase artwork. Work may include painting, drawings, sculpture, hand blown glass, print making, handmade furniture, as well as jewellery, ceramics, textiles and many other media.
Geographically grouped venues across Busselton, Margaret River, Augusta, Vasse, Yallingup, Quindalup, Dunsborough, Cowaramup will be shown on maps so visitors can design their own art trails.
Entry is FREE to all Art Lovers.
The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival is the flagship annual literature event of Arts Margaret River. It is the biggest regional literary event in Western Australia and aims to foster a love of literature and the arts within the community.
Each year, the festival brings an array of thought-provoking writers to the region including novelists, journalists, academics and established and emerging storytellers from WA, interstate and overseas.
The Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2018. What began as a modest local project in 2009 has grown to be Western Australia’s largest regional literary festival with a significant youth component that tours schools in the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River and the City of Busselton.
The World Food Twilight Market will see up to twelve ‘world food’ vendors serving affordable ready to go food from around the globe and beverages to the community; The twilight market will essentially be an international food hall held outside in the park with lighting and seating creating a welcoming environment for all attending.
The aim of the event is to enhance the Margaret River community’s sense of place, the opportunity for a shared cultural experience; as a special event that is affordable and fun. We hope to encourage community participation, create tolerance and diversity, to engender pride and overall, strengthen community spirit.
