Lovely Place to stay in Margaret River This is the place to stay if you ever visit Margaret River. We were welcomed by Denise the moment we checked in. She’s the friendly go to person if you need any info on places to go in Margaret River. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. There’s even an outdoor grill for your own little barbie party. Town is just a short stroll away and this makes it really convenient for you to get your food and groceries. We will definitely be back again.
Denise gave us a great welcome & we were sorry we didn’t get a chance to say goodbye due to very early leaving. Nothing was too much trouble. She was cheery & generous with her advice & thanks to her we saw Roos & Rays & the Cape between two oceans & more besides. I was able put my washing on her line which was so appreciated. She was a perfect host. Thank you so much Denise & sorry we did not get to say goodbye.
Very convenient location, walking distance from the Bakery, Brewhouse, Woolworths, town centre and yet adjoining (thats why the name) a forest and the River walk trail. Hosts were helpful – large DVD collection, well equipped barbecue in the garden made for a nice DIY dinner experience and breakfast was functional. The complimentary bottle of local wine was most welcome.
Stayed here for one night and everything was as hoped for. It’s literally at the edge of the forest so you’ve got the sounds, views and smells. The nearby road was quiet and night and a background hum in the morning. The proprietor was friendly and welcoming, wasted no time with her requirements and let us enjoy our stay. Room was spacious, bathroom renovated, bed surprisingly comfy. We travelend from Victoria with 3 hours time difference and expected to be up by 3. We woke at 5.15. Must be the fresh and nice smelling sheets! Winning. Room has all you could need, smart placement of lamps, water cooker and basic cutlery, small table and two chairs, silent fridge and large enough tv. Outside areas are nice and plenty, free parking is a plus, free wifi worked, but a bit spotty. Restaurants (plenty) are a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk along a darkish road. Good choice to stay! We stayed for 2 nights at Edge of the Forest and had an excellent time. Denise & Alan are very helpful in providing directions as well as suggestions on where to go. The room is clean and comes with breakfast and a bottle of wine! Parking is also free at the premises! The location is good too as it’s 5 minutes walk to town. There is a walking trail behind the motel and we had a nice morning walk! There is also a very nice brewery next door! Overall, we had a fantastic time at Margaret River! Hope to be back sometime in the future!
Beautiful, Peaceful & Welcoming I stayed at the Edge of the Forest for one weekend in Margret River and I had an excellent stay here. The owners were friendly and welcoming and offered many recommendations for things to see and do in the area. The rooms were clean with a nice amount of space. Our suite faced the garden and it was nice to sit outside there each morning with my coffee. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and I would recommend it to my family and friends. Such a lovely little motel on the edge of Margaret River township. Its small size lends to the charm of staying here. Really friendly welcome upon arrival and actually shown to our two rooms, rather than “here are your keys” and away you go. Rooms set around a compact grass courtyard, with a small table and a few chairs across from each room, so you could enjoy the fresh air and the quiet while having a drink. Rooms were excellent. Perfectly setup, modern and very clean. Could not have asked for more for the price paid. We walked the short distance into town for breakfast at the Margaret River Bakery, although the motel does offer breakfast packs. For dinner each night, it was a short 150 metre walk down a “fire trail” at the back of the motel to get to the local Brewhaus, where the beer and food were both excellent. Not even having to walk along the main road to get there was a nice way to end the day, although remember your mobile phone so you have the flashlight to light the way back later, as no lights on the trail.
We stayed in the cottage next to the motel and it was perfect, so beautifully renovated and had everything you would need. We had 6 adults and 2 kids & 1 baby and weren’t squashed (though we are related 😉 the cottage backs on to the beautiful walks through the Margaret River Forest and it is less than 2 mins walk out the back gate to a great brewery 👍🏼
Very friendly host and comfortable stay.”My wife and I stayed at the motel for 3 nights. During checking in, Denise the host, was very welcoming and provided many good advise on where to visit ( free maps provided ) and where to eat around Margaret River ( discount name cards and menus available ). The room is very new, clean and comfortable. There’s also a folder in the room containing the Menus and pricing of the many restaurants around Margaret River area. Denise is very knowledgeable of the Margaret River area. Whenever I tell her where I will be going to visit for the day. She is aways able to advise on the good photo shoot points, great places to eat and views to enjoy. The motel is just next to the Bussell Highway and very easy to locate. It’s only 5 minutes walk to the Margaret River Town Center. There’s a big Coles supermarket in town. There’s only one small point to note. Since the Motel is very close to the main road, do expect some traffic noise. However it did not border me and my wife much, since we are used to living in the city.
