It is obvious why this establishment has won so many awards. The owners make sure that everything is as it should be. They are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are a good size. The modern bathroom has a great shower. The continental breakfast delivered to the room was very good. Overall, excellent value. Would definitely stay here again.Reviewed by OzHolly1 Sep 2019
The name of this motel describes it perfectly. Set just outside of town north of the Margaret River, the motel is within easy walking distance of downtown Margaret River. The motel itself is in a peaceful setting about 50 ft (15 meters) off of the road. While there is a little road noise during the day, at night there is virtually no traffic. The owners greeted us and ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay complete. They also provided recommendations on what to see and do and where to eat in town. Our room was large enough to easily accommodate our large suitcases. It also had a nice, updated bathroom. Outside of our room was a small porch with a table and chairs and beyond that was a secluded courtyard available to guests. We had a very restful and enjoyable visit.
The cottage is perfect for a family or group of friends. Beautifully restored, a great location, plenty of space for everyone. The back and front yard is beautiful with its lovely gardens. The cottage had all the amenities we needed. We will definetly be back, Great property!
19 Jun 2018Booked this accommodation on Tripadvisor for two main reasons, location to town and the reviews. Both proved to be correct, resulting in an enjoyable stay. The people who run it are very friendly and helpful, walk to the Brewhouse about 100m away for excellent food, beers and wines, great walks to the river from behind the motel and about 10 mins stroll into the centre of town for meals and shopping. The rooms are ok, comfortable beds and modern bathroom with everything you need including a nice little sitting area out the front of the rooms. Very reasonable in price.
30 Jul 2018Friendly welcome, beautifully clean, well appointed accommodation and reasonable price. Excellent place to stay in Margaret River! Book directly with them to get a substantial, complimentary breakfast.
Recently passed through Margaret River with my niece. Needed a comfortable, well priced self-contained room for just one night…we got that ‘in spades’ at Edge of the Forest!!!! The room was spotlessly clean, beds were super comfy…the place looked very recently renovated!! I loved the thought and detail that went into the bathroom design/layout and the fact that the kitchenette items were new and exactly what was needed for breakfast prep!! The position was great .. just over the bridge, at the northern end of town…easy walk to the pub for dinner!! There was a bit of road noise but went unnoticed most of the time. Reception staff was also fabulous!! I would not hesitate to recommend nor stay there again!!! Well done to E ‘o F!!Reviewed by 191Christine18 Oct 2019
Such a lovely little motel on the edge of Margaret River township. Its small size lends to the charm of staying here. Really friendly welcome upon arrival and actually shown to our two rooms, rather than “here are your keys” and away you go. Rooms set around a compact grass courtyard, with a small table and a few chairs across from each room, so you could enjoy the fresh air and the quiet while having a drink. Rooms were excellent. Perfectly setup, modern and very clean. Could not have asked for more for the price paid. We walked the short distance into town for breakfast at the Margaret River Bakery, although the motel does offer breakfast packs. For dinner each night, it was a short 150 metre walk down a “fire trail” at the back of the motel to get to the local Brewhaus, where the beer and food were both excellent. Not even having to walk along the main road to get there was a nice way to end the day, although remember your mobile phone so you have the flashlight to light the way back later, as no lights on the trail.
24 Feb 2018We stayed here for 4 nights recently while exploring the Margaret River region. Our room was comfortable and equipped with basic dining utensils and a microwave. We were provided with a free continental breakfast every morning for having booked direct with the hotel. Our hosts were very friendly and an extremely useful source of information about the area.
Refunded deposit quicklyDue to Covid-19 we were not able to travel to Margaret River WA for the Anzac Day long weekend. We called them and asked if it was possible to get a refund on the deposit we paid. The answer was yes and the money was back in our account a few days later. We will use the Edge of the Forest Motel & Cottage when we will be able to travel again. The man we spoke to on the phone was very nice and accommodating.Stay596060undefined wrote a review on 7 May 2020
We loved our stay at Edge of the Forest. The room was comfortable and clean, with beautiful quality towels and linen. The heating worked well and there was a kettle, small fridge and microwave. We received a complimentary bottle of wine, and daily continental breakfast which made the mornings easy. The DVD collection is a nice touch, we watched a movie every night. The location is good, right before you enter town, about a 10 minute walk in. You need to cross a busy road, but it’s not difficult when there’s a break in traffic. It’s not well lit at night, so keep the flashlight on your phone handy. The owners are genuinely friendly and happy to help with recommendations or travel plans. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
