We stayed in the cottage next to the motel and it was perfect, so beautifully renovated and had everything you would need. We had 6 adults and 2 kids & 1 baby and weren’t squashed (though we are related 😉 the cottage backs on to the beautiful walks through the Margaret River Forest and it is less than 2 mins walk out the back gate to a great brewery 👍🏼
19 Jun 2018Booked this accommodation on Tripadvisor for two main reasons, location to town and the reviews. Both proved to be correct, resulting in an enjoyable stay. The people who run it are very friendly and helpful, walk to the Brewhouse about 100m away for excellent food, beers and wines, great walks to the river from behind the motel and about 10 mins stroll into the centre of town for meals and shopping. The rooms are ok, comfortable beds and modern bathroom with everything you need including a nice little sitting area out the front of the rooms. Very reasonable in price.
3 Jan 2018Denise and Alan are lovely host they make everyone one feel so welcome. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, rooms so clean and well stocked with everything you need. BBQ area is a beautiful place to sit and read or just relax while you cook. Thank you so much for a lovely relaxing and enjoyable stay. To make my day even better the birds come to eat so relaxing to watch Trini
30 Jul 2018Friendly welcome, beautifully clean, well appointed accommodation and reasonable price. Excellent place to stay in Margaret River! Book directly with them to get a substantial, complimentary breakfast.
Beautiful, Peaceful & Welcoming I stayed at the Edge of the Forest for one weekend in Margret River and I had an excellent stay here. The owners were friendly and welcoming and offered many recommendations for things to see and do in the area. The rooms were clean with a nice amount of space. Our suite faced the garden and it was nice to sit outside there each morning with my coffee. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and I would recommend it to my family and friends. 24 Feb 2018We stayed here for 4 nights recently while exploring the Margaret River region. Our room was comfortable and equipped with basic dining utensils and a microwave. We were provided with a free continental breakfast every morning for having booked direct with the hotel. Our hosts were very friendly and an extremely useful source of information about the area.
The name of this motel describes it perfectly. Set just outside of town north of the Margaret River, the motel is within easy walking distance of downtown Margaret River. The motel itself is in a peaceful setting about 50 ft (15 meters) off of the road. While there is a little road noise during the day, at night there is virtually no traffic. The owners greeted us and ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay complete. They also provided recommendations on what to see and do and where to eat in town. Our room was large enough to easily accommodate our large suitcases. It also had a nice, updated bathroom. Outside of our room was a small porch with a table and chairs and beyond that was a secluded courtyard available to guests. We had a very restful and enjoyable visit.
The cottage is perfect for a family or group of friends. Beautifully restored, a great location, plenty of space for everyone. The back and front yard is beautiful with its lovely gardens. The cottage had all the amenities we needed. We will definetly be back, Great property!
Denise and Alan were lovely, very welcoming and friendly. We had a lovely stay with our family here. It is a very handy location. Walk to the Margaret river brewery (only about 80metres). It is great to be able to walk to the forest. We were able to do the Margaret river parkrun (freedom run). For Parkrun tourists, this would be the closest accommodation to the start line. Lots of joggers or walkers on this trail and a nice coffee shop that is a bike shop at the park – an ideal spot for mountain biking too. The bbq area was very nice and a very clean room. Would stay here again and highly recommend.
Stayed here for one night and everything was as hoped for. It’s literally at the edge of the forest so you’ve got the sounds, views and smells. The nearby road was quiet and night and a background hum in the morning. The proprietor was friendly and welcoming, wasted no time with her requirements and let us enjoy our stay. Room was spacious, bathroom renovated, bed surprisingly comfy. We travelend from Victoria with 3 hours time difference and expected to be up by 3. We woke at 5.15. Must be the fresh and nice smelling sheets! Winning. Room has all you could need, smart placement of lamps, water cooker and basic cutlery, small table and two chairs, silent fridge and large enough tv. Outside areas are nice and plenty, free parking is a plus, free wifi worked, but a bit spotty. Restaurants (plenty) are a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk along a darkish road. Good choice to stay!
